We are currently seeking qualified Electricians to join our on-site Construction team for one month, based out of a remote camp location near Fort MacKay, Alberta. This position offers the opportunity to participate in construction on the Imperial Oil (IOL) Kearl Lake Sodium Citrate Injection Process System. The shift is planned to be 21 days on and 7 days rotation, 10-hour days. While the preference is to hire candidates who resides locally, fly-in, fly-out from Edmonton, Alberta or Calgary, Alberta will be available based on eligibility.

Hourly rate: Ranges from $32.15/hr. to $53.58/hr.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures
  • Review electrical and instrumentation engineering, and construction work packages.
  • Review and execute scope based on Field Instruction Work Packages
  • Understand and execute work under LOTO requirements
  • Install industrial cable tray and power cables
  • Install process pipe heat tracing, SR or MI
  • Support the install of instrumentation
  • Install MCC Wrappers
  • Management of material for required scope
  • Communicate and work in a team environment
  • Ability to work with Field Engineering and Quality Control to efficiently resolve hurdles
  • Provide knowledge and advice on electrical and/or instrument equipment and systems.
  • Provide direction in establishing the electrical and instrumentation requirements and specifications for existing and new facilities.
  • Provide support in commissioning and start-up activities, as required, for the electrical and/or instrumentation equipment and systems in the field.
  • Provide ongoing support to operations.
  • Other duties as required
  • Apprentice up to and including Journeyperson Red Seal level
  • Strong technical knowledge and proven experience in electrical and/or instrumentation equipment and systems
  • Knowledge and experience with Heat Trace systems
  • Experience in an industrial setting required
  • Knowledge and experience with industrial construction an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate with all levels of a project organization

Required Tickets:

  • Aerial Work Platform (AWP), and Fall Arrest Certification

As part of the recruitment process, successful clearance of applicable pre-employment checks is required which may include Criminal Background/Police Information check, Drug & Alcohol test, Reference checks as well as submittal of Provincial Driver’s Abstract. In addition, standard HSE certifications may be required including WHMIS, First Aid etc.
