Our client is a leading global manufacturer of bearings, with a strong focus on technology and innovation. The company has a state-of-the art research facility in the Netherlands, to which they have attracted highly qualified scientists and researchers from across the world. The Lubrication and Tribology Department at the Research Centre is responsible for generating new knowledge and technology as well as for developing predictive physical models for life and friction of bearings. In order to enhance this team, the company is looking to appoint a Team Leader Lubricants.

Functions

•To organize and coordinate the research activities of the team
•To develop and grow the team expertise
•To define the scope and directions for future research and technologies
•To facilitate and drive knowledge sharing
•To collaborate with the Department Manager for people development
•To manage budget, cost and execution of projects
•To initiate and coordinate research activities with academia and leading universities
•To build up and develop relations with internal and external business partners

Profile:

•PhD or MSc in Tribology and Lubricants or related disciplines.
•8-10 years relevant working experience
•Sound leadership skills and team building: coaching, leading, mentoring a research team
•Project management skills
•Ability to keep abreast of leading edge developments and technologies
•Innovative and creative mindset
•Willingness and flexibility to work in an international environment in continuous cooperation with teams located globally
•Excellent communication skills
