Care Centres - Fitness Recreation Consultant

Status: Contractor (Casual / On-Call)

Schedule: Coverage shifts may include:
• Morning: 3:15 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.
• Afternoon: 11:15 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.
• Evening: 3:15 p.m. – 10:15 p.m.

TELUS Health is looking for Casual Fitness & Recreation Consultants to support a corporate Fitness & Recreation Centre in Cambridge, Ontario. This is an on-call position designed to provide coverage during team member vacations, absences, leaves, and periods requiring additional staffing support. Successful candidates will be added to a roster of qualified coverage staff and may be contacted to provide coverage for vacations, sick days, leaves of absence, special events, and periods of increased operational demand.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet members in a friendly, professional, and welcoming manner
• Answer member questions and provide exceptional customer service
• Monitor gym and member safety and ensure safe use of equipment
• Conduct facility walkthroughs and maintain a clean, organized environment
• Provide equipment orientations and basic fitness guidance within scope of practice
• Support fitness and recreation programming, events, and member engagement activities
• Track facility usage and report maintenance, safety, or operational concerns
• Assist with opening, closing, and day-to-day operations of the fitness and recreation centre

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Kinesiology, Health Promotion, Fitness, Recreation, Workplace Wellness, or a related field
• Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification
• Current Personal Training certification
• Group Exercise certification is considered an asset
