Job description

About Thatch

For most people, health insurance is something that happens to them: a plan chosen by someone else, with little room to fit their life. Thatch is changing that. We help companies give every employee a real healthcare budget instead of a one-size-fits-all plan, so people can choose the coverage and care that works for them, and employers get predictable costs they can control.

It’s a simple idea, but making it real means solving hard problems across healthcare, payments, and technology, and we’re just getting started. We look for people who like solving complex problems, use good judgment, and are comfortable working through ambiguity. People here care deeply about our customers, take real responsibility for what gets built, and are driven by doing work that matters.

About the role

Getting started with Thatch should be simple. But for a small business choosing health benefits, there are real decisions to make: budgets, contributions, eligibility, and getting employees enrolled. Every employer who gets stuck is a team that doesn't get coverage.

We're looking for a Product Growth Manager to turn more signups into employers who invite their teams to Thatch. You'll own that conversion metric end to end, identify what's getting in the way, and find ways to move it.

The solution might be a better onboarding experience, a timely nudge, a new incentive, or getting the right employer connected with a real person. You'll experiment, ship improvements with Engineering and Design, and build a growth engine that helps more businesses offer health benefits.

What you will do

  • Own employer conversion from signup to employee invites, driving a key company growth metric.
  • Use funnel data, customer research, and feedback to identify friction and opportunities.
  • Run experiments across onboarding, in-product experiences, and lifecycle messaging to improve conversion.
  • Partner with Engineering and Design to ship improvements, from quick wins to larger product changes.
  • Build and test growth programs, including sales-assist, targeted outreach, and broker handoffs.
  • Track performance, share learnings, and turn successful experiments into repeatable growth strategies.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years in product growth, product management, or a similar role, with direct ownership of conversion or activation.
  • A track record of improving self-serve or product-led funnels, with measurable results.
  • Strong experimentation instincts. You know how to form a hypothesis, design a test, and separate real signal from noise.
  • Comfortable getting into the data yourself, including SQL and product analytics tools like Amplitude or Mixpanel.
  • Strong product judgment and experience working with Engineering and Design to ship improvements.
  • Someone who moves quickly, takes ownership, and knows how to turn ambiguous problems into action

Experience that stands out

  • You’ve worked across several engagement surfaces, not just email.
  • You can use SQL or analytics tools to answer your own questions.
  • You’ve worked on complex customer journeys or products with multiple audiences.
  • Experience in healthcare, benefits, fintech, or another regulated industry.
  • You use AI as part of how you work.
  • Unshakable optimism in the face of adversity.

How we work

  • Growing a B2B self-serve product, particularly one serving small businesses.
  • Building lifecycle campaigns with tools like Braze.
  • Designing sales-assist or product-led sales motions.
  • Working in healthcare, insurance, fintech, or another regulated industry.
  • Using AI tools to move faster on analysis, experimentation, or content.

What to expect

We aim to keep the process thoughtful, rigorous, and efficient. Most candidates complete it within three weeks. You can expect:

  • An initial conversation with a recruiter.
  • A conversation with the hiring manager.
  • Conversations with product, engineering, and cross-functional teammates.
  • A final conversation with executive leadership.
Estimated Compensation Range
$160,000—$230,000 USD
