About Orchard
Orchard is transforming the way people buy and sell their homes. Simplifying it, to the way it should have always been; fair and true to market, straightforward, easy. Every year in the U.S., $1.5 trillion of single family homes transact, generating over $120 billion of fees in a process that has changed little in decades. For the average American, the home purchase and sale process takes months, creates anxiety and is filled with uncertainty and hassle. Orchard offers a modern alternative, making one of life's biggest decisions -- the sale and purchase of a home –so stress free, fair and simple that people cannot imagine any other way. Orchard is headquartered in New York City, has 150+ employees, a network of 600 agents and has grown nearly 2x year over the last 2 years. We have raised equity financing from top tier investors including: Firstmark, Accomplice, Revolution Growth, Navitas and Juxtapose.
About the Role
Orchard Brokerage operates in 13 markets across eight states and is expanding nationally in January, and we're looking for a leader to drive that growth. Our core promise to agents is simple: we generate highly qualified seller appointments directly and put them in our agents' hands and we give them access to unique selling options that help them win more. The brokerage grows only as fast as we can attract and keep the right agents.
Orchard is hiring a sales leader to build the engine that brings great real estate agents to Orchard. It's a fit for you if you have built and led teams in enterprise or small business sales. You'll run agent growth like a modern sales organization: a defined market, a prioritized prospect list, high-volume outbound, a clear hand-off from the people who book conversations to the people who close them, and a funnel we can measure stage by stage. Our goal is to bring on two to three times as many quality agents each month as we do today, with the same or better retention. This role exists to make that happen.
This is a full-time role that will report to our President and can be based in any Orchard hiring location, which include: Washington DC, CA, CO, FL, GA, MA, MI, MS, NC, NJ, NY, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, WA. There is a preference for candidates based in Austin, Denver or New York City. If based in NYC, this role would be hybrid - in office two days a week.
What You’ll Do Here
You'll own agent acquisition end to end: the goals, the team, the process and the tools.
- The agent growth number. Set and hit monthly targets for quality agents joining Orchard, measured in the company revenue those agents generate — not just headcount.
- The go-to-market motion. Build a true outbound engine: a full map of the agents in our target markets, a priority model that tells the team who to call first, touch plans, scripts and a pitch that wins against other brokerages.
- The funnel. Instrument and manage every stage — call volume, contact rate, interviews set, interviews held, offers, closes — and know where it's leaking each week.
- Every source of agents. Outbound, referrals from our own agents, inbound hand-raisers, team recruiting and new-market launches. You'll help decide where we invest and where we pull back.
- The systems. Partner with our product, data and operations teams on the dialer, CRM, nurture campaigns and candidate experience your team runs on.
- The compensation design. Shape incentive plans for your team that reward the right outcomes: profitable agents, not just signatures.
- The hand-off. Make sure every agent who signs gets a clean start with their market manager, and use retention data to sharpen who we recruit.
We’d Love to Hear From You if You Have:
- 7+ years in B2B sales, with at least 4-5+ years managing sales reps against monthly or quarterly targets. Enterprise or SMB sales leadership especially at a tech or high-growth company.
- Managed a sales team, owned its targets and built the process that gets reps there. You don't need to know real estate on day one; you need to know how to build a pipeline and coach people to hit their goals.
- Hands-on experience running an outbound motion: SDR/AE structures, high call volumes, scripts, cadences and a CRM you actually live in.
- A habit of managing by the numbers. You can spot the weak stage in a funnel and know what to do about it.
- A demonstrated track record of hiring, coaching and, when needed, making hard calls on performance.
- Experience in designing or managing variable compensation that drives the right behavior.
- Comfort with pace and ambiguity. You've worked somewhere that moves fast, and you like it there.
- Strong verbal and written communication and sales skills. Agents are entrepreneurs; you'll sometimes close the biggest ones yourself.
- Experience in residential real estate, at a brokerage, or selling to real estate agents (preferred, not required).
- Experience at a venture-backed or similarly fast-moving company (preferred, not required).
- Familiarity with dialers, sales engagement platforms or marketing automation (preferred, not required).
Compensation for this role includes a base salary, performance-based compensation, and equity participation, as well as competitive benefits, paid leave, and other benefits. This position does not include an annual bonus. The total target compensation range is $150K-$220K per year. The actual base pay offered may vary within the range provided depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. We also offer a full range of medical, and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered. This information is provided per the New York City Human Rights Law.
