Overview

We are looking for an IT Operations Lead to take ownership of corporate IT operations, infrastructure delivery, operational stability, and service maturity across the organisation.

You will work closely with Cyber Security, Product Security, Engineering, internal stakeholders, and a co-managed MSP environment to maintain and improve operational IT capability. The role includes responsibility for infrastructure operations, service management, supplier coordination, operational resilience, and continuous improvement across the IT estate.

This is a hands-on operational leadership role focused on delivery, operational ownership, and driving outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day IT operational delivery across infrastructure, platforms, and user services.

  • Lead and coordinate operational activities across internal teams, MSPs, suppliers, and support partners.

  • Ensure operational stability, resilience, and supportability of core IT services.

  • Act as the senior escalation point for IT-related incidents, including outages, infrastructure failures, service disruption, and priority operational issues.

  • Drive operational issues through to resolution and maintain visibility of operational risks, recurring incidents, and technical debt.

  • Oversee operational management of infrastructure, networking, virtualisation, endpoint platforms, cloud services, backups, and collaboration tooling.

  • Ensure systems and services are patched, monitored, maintained, documented, and operationally supported.

  • Support infrastructure lifecycle activities including upgrades, migrations, refreshes, and new site deployment.

  • Support operational identity and access management processes, including privileged access and joiner/mover/leaver activities.

  • Improve operational maturity across incident management, service delivery, escalation handling, reporting, and support processes.

  • Coordinate delivery across MSPs, cloud vendors, telecoms providers, and infrastructure suppliers.

  • Work closely with Cyber Security and Product Security teams to support secure operational delivery, patching, resilience, and incident response.

  • Continuously improve operational standards, documentation, tooling, automation, and service maturity while balancing operational control with business agility

Skills & Experience

  • Experience leading IT operations, infrastructure operations, or enterprise IT service delivery.

  • Strong understanding of infrastructure, networking, virtualisation, endpoint management, cloud services, and operational support environments.

  • Experience managing operational incidents, outages, escalations, and service recovery activities.

  • Experience coordinating internal technical teams, MSPs, suppliers, and third-party providers.

  • Experience improving operational maturity, service delivery standards, and operational processes.

  • Strong understanding of operational risk, resilience, identity and access management, and service management principles.

  • Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills with a delivery-focused mindset.

  • Experience working within security-focused, regulated, defence, aerospace, or operational technology environments is advantageous.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Engineering, or a related technical discipline is required.

  • The environment includes corporate IT, engineering-adjacent infrastructure, operational technology dependencies, cloud services, SaaS platforms, and security-driven operational requirements.

  • The successful candidate will be expected to combine hands-on operational understanding with strong coordination, ownership, and delivery discipline.

What we have to offer you:

  • An excellent work environment and an opportunity to make a difference.

  • Salary commensurate with level of experience.

  • Company pension contribution matched up to 10%.

  • 25 days annual holiday + 8 Bank holidays.

  • Medical Insurance.

  • Dental Insurance.

  • Salary sacrifice initiatives (EV Scheme, Cycle 2 Work, Tech Scheme)

  • Discretionary annual company bonus.
